Sanitas opens the new Riazor Medical Center and strengthens its healthcare commitment in Galicia
Sanitas continues to expand its healthcare network in the northwest with the opening of the new Riazor Medical Center in La Coruña, a space designed to offer comprehensive, accessible, and continuous care. The opening represents the consolidation of services in a more modern and functional facility, reinforcing the company's growth strategy in Galicia.
Located at Avenida de la Habana, 6, the center has 1,878 square meters and 14 consultation rooms from which more than 30 medical specialties will be provided. These include cardiology, ophthalmology, and audiometry, supported by specific diagnostic areas and a clinical analysis service that allows routine tests to be carried out quickly and efficiently. In addition, the center offers continuous care, guaranteeing emergency services throughout the entire care schedule to provide maximum flexibility to patients.
One of its key elements is the surgical block, equipped for major outpatient surgery (CMA) procedures, which is complemented by an endoscopy room and a technical room. Added to this is an advanced imaging unit, equipped with magnetic resonance imaging, mammography, ultrasound, and conventional radiology, ensuring accurate diagnoses in a short time.
The center also houses an Advanced Rehabilitation Center (CRA), which integrates physical therapy, podiatry, psychology, and rehabilitation medicine services. This space incorporates state-of-the-art technology, from invasive ultrasound-guided physical therapy techniques—such as percutaneous electrolysis and neuromodulation—to non-invasive therapies such as tecar therapy and high-power laser.
With the new Riazor Medical Center, we are taking a decisive step forward in our expansion plan in Galicia. Our aim is to bring a comprehensive healthcare model that combines quality medicine, innovation, and advanced rehabilitation services. We want to accompany people through all stages of their lives, with accessible solutions tailored to their needs," said Susana Quintanilla, general manager of Sanitas Hospitals.
